The Republican Party, also referred to as the GOP (Grand Old Party), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with its main, historic rival, the Democratic Party. The GOP was founded in 1854 by opponents of the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which allowed for the potential expansion of slavery into the western territories. The party supported classical liberalism, opposed the expansion of slavery, and supported economic reform. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president. Under the leadership of Lincoln and a Republican Congress, slavery was banned in the United States in 1865. The Party was generally dominant during the Third Party System and the Fourth Party System. After 1912, the Party underwent an ideological shift to the right. Following the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the party's core base shifted, with Southern states becoming more reliably Republican in presidential politics.The party's 21st-century base of support includes people living in rural areas, men, the Silent Generation, white Americans, and evangelical Christians.

Chris Collins, charged with conducting insider trading while attending a White House picnic, amplified a question looming over election season. In 2006, allegations of financial misbehavior rocked a series of GOP members. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay quit under a cloud; two colleagues, Duke Cunningham and Bob Ney, eventually went to jail.

"It is a nightmare! I do not feel safe, satisfied and also healthy interacting with this company. I would like to explain why: 1. I was diagnosed in Indonesia with a dangerous intestinal disease. I was hospitalized. Insurance company sent GOP and after several days they cancelled it!!! Unbelievable! It happened during my treatment. I have an enteric infection, and I needed complete peace and psychological comfort to recover. After they canceled the GOP, my condition worsened dramatically. My temperature has risen. I have documentary evidence of this 2. Also they didn’t provide my hospital with any information. So the administration started to push me to do something. I was sick, with diarrhea, temperature and with a dropper in my hand. What should I do?! Is it first-class service? 3. Then I called and texted several times to Tokio Marine HCC, to Safety Wing, to OnCall International wanting to understand the reason for this behavior! After a ton of calls and correspondence, it became clear that they don’t want to cover my case because they suspect that I had the disease before buying an insurance policy. But it’s not true because I have medical tests! It is very clear: 24.06.2020 I bought the insurance, also 24.06.2020 salmonella test was negative! 4. I sent a complaint to Tokio Marine HCC, but did not receive any response within three business days (according to my contract). 5. The hospital is waiting for the payment and now holding my passport, which is not legal. Because my passport is the property of my country. And no one has the right to keep it except me."

"I was diagnosed with bilateral ovarian cyst in Jan following an acute attack. 6 months later, I had an even more severe attack with other serious symptoms. It’s been 2 weeks and the symptoms have been getting worse and I am still in bed as I write this. An ultrasound showed the cysts has grown bigger and the doctor recommended immediate laparoscopic cyst removal. Even though I’m well within coverage under my policy and I did everything they requested, the answer I got after days of waiting was: “Tokio Marine HCC cannot provide a guarantee of payment for the upcoming surgery, you will have to pay upfront and file for reimbursement, I do understand that this is an stressful situation but we have to abide to the procedures of the policy”. 1) First of all, this is a medical emergency (one which is covered by my policy no less) as I suffered 2 attacks and my condition is not getting any better each day. 2) I bought insurance because I can’t pay $10,000 upfront for procedures like this. And during corona, me and everyone I know are living on savings, where am I going to get the funds for this? 3) I read for cases like Dengue, they do provide Guarantee of Payment (GOP). So which illnesses are backed up with GOP and which are not? 4) They did mention they will assist in reimbursement process, “according to policy provision” of course, which is ultimately saying there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll get your money back. Processing time of 30-45 days should also be redefined in times of Corona because we’re all living on limited resources! My situation meets all the criteria of coverage, and I wasn’t even given a reason why my GOP was denied. This insurance does NOT give any guarantee of payment. It does NOT give any guarantee of reimbursement. You basically have to COVER EVERYTHING YOURSELF and there’s no assurance you’ll get your money back. They could have given a guarantee of payment to the hospital, instead they left me waiting in a critical state! My condition could get much worse in the coming days as there is a possibility of the cyst rupturing which will lead to even more complications and higher risk to my health. I travel for 11 months out of a year and have been paying diligently for this grand illusion of security. The amount of premium I’ve been paying out seems so futile now compared to the amount of claims I receive in a year. I might as well have paid the bills myself. I figured having insurance coverage made sense if costly medical emergencies came up. As you can see from my experience, you’re absolutely on your own. I have always been suspicious of insurance companies but I took a chance on Safety Wing hoping it was different. I was even in the process of converting 2 friends onto it (who were waiting to see how they would respond to this issue before deciding). Now I’m looking for another company myself. What I learnt from the whole process? That there is no transparency and sincerity in Safety Wing. That I'm not really insured at all and now realising it’s a waste of my hard earned money. When buying insurance, please make sure they cover you for costly procedures. That’s where it counts most."

"Terrible experience, enormous waste of time. The platform provided for registration doesn't work. The customer service is joke, requiring repeated efforts to register, only to find that the platform doesn't work. We were interested because the initial estimated quote was low, but as soon as we tried to register, the quote quadrupled. This is a great idea for a company and I hope that someday competent people try to realize it instead of the ludicrous clowns managing it now."
